A Scituate native, Emmitt graduated from Pratt Institute in 2008 with a BFA in sculpture. He fell in love with the magic of welding as a teenager and has been doing metalwork for 20 years.
His work tends to lean towards functional minimalism— products with purpose and simple lines with a refined design. The past 10 years Emmitt was a lead fabricator for high-end light fixture and furniture companies, working in all kinds of metals, but specifically brass and steel.
